Story
UNICEF Article 28: "All children have the right to an education"
Education is one of the most important parts of any child's life as it is where they learn skills for life. All young people should be encouraged to reach the highest level of education of which they are capable as this is what will open them up to a world of opportunities.
The NGO "Niños de Guatemala" aim to provide underprivileged children with an education by setting up primary and secondary schools across Guatemala because whilst primary school in Guatemala is free and compulsory the government spend little money on schools meaning the quality of education is very low.
In October I will be travelling to Guatemala for two weeks with my school and staying in Antigua where we will be volunteering with the NGO "Niños de Guatemala" and I am very much looking forward to this opportunity to work in the local community and to see and be part of the amazing work that goes on.
As part of the scheme I am raising money for the charity which will be put towards building new schools. In order to raise the money I am running a 10k in Richmond, London and would love to have your support!
