Weʼre raising £1,660 to to travel to Uganda as part of Explorer Scouts to build a farm and a bore hole for a local village.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
I am planning to travel to a community in Uganda called Bulera. The community is currently struggling to run the local school and without help many children will no longer get the education they deserve.
Together with 23 other Explorer Scouts and 6 leaders we will undertake two different projects in Uganda. The 1st is a chicken farm which will be used to support the local school and provide each of the pupils with a hot meal daily.
The second project is building a bore hole for the community. At present the community does have a well but it is not big enough to cater for everyone and they will need even more water once the farm is up and running.
Whilst in Uganda we will be camping in the village and integrating ourselves fully in to the Ugandan lifestyle. We will visit the local school, medical centre and talk to local people to gain a deeper understanding about what life is like.
Overall each participant has to raise £1,800 - £450 goes towards buying the land for the farm and building supplies. £1350 goes towards the flights, food, and travel etc.
I really hope you can help support our projects, I will be really grateful for any donations,
