I've raised £2700 to help with the conservation of the wildlife of the Amazon rainforest in Costa Rica with my World Challenge expedition.
Organised by Emily Dent
The Amazon rainforest is being deforested at an alarming rate, not only is this destroying the trees and plants which we could use in medicines and other future uses, but it is also destroying the habitats of many animals. To help with this we would be helping to maintain the footpaths within the Amazon rainforest to decrease footfall on plants, teaching locals on sustainable ways of earning a living such as rubber tapping, as well as helping with the gathering of turtles eggs so that they can hatch in a safe environment and released into the sea with monitoring to prevent the risk of poaching (given turtles eggs are a delicacy in South America).
