I've raised £2000 to help me through 2 years training to be a Salvation Army officer.

'At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music' - from psalm 27
Justgiving asks me 'what's the problem you're trying to solve and why do you care about it?'.
Well...the problem that I'm trying to solve, through my 30-day challenge that I'm calling ''Play a Hymn of the Day Challenge to Help Emily Through Two Years in Training College' (it needs a bit of work, it's not as catchy as I'd like) is that I need to raise some finances so that I can afford to buy things that will help me, um, live. (Which is why I care about it, in case you were wondering). Other stuff too, like books and clothes, etc, will also be important, but that's the essence of all of this.
I have felt a calling into officership since I joined the Salvation Army in 2013, and have spent many a year, and tear, since then in preparation for what will be a challenging but exciting adventure. This year is the year in which I finally and officially start with a two year training experience at the William Booth College. It will mean giving up a few things including my teaching salary, a job that I have learned to love, all of which I'm happy about doing. Unfortunately despite my fervent efforts to save the pennies, I can't get away from the reality that currently, I will be a bit short. I have created this page to go alongside my 'Play a Hymn..' challenge in case you feel inspired and compelled to help financially. If not, words of encouragement are also very much appreciated!
Thank you, in advance, for reading all the way up to this point, and for maybe even considering financially supporting me through these couple of years. Love love love to you all, Emily.
