Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my JustGiving page.
I have been given the opportunity to visit South Africa with 18 other Young People in July 2018, a trip organised and facilitated by the Youth Team at Blackburn Diocese of the Church of England. We are flying to Johannesburg and then travelling to Bloemfontein for 18 days where we will be helping with local charities during our time there. Three of the Charities we are supporting are Towers of Hope Leadership Foundation (a church that was a beacon of hope during apartheid and now assists prostitutes and street people), Sunflower Children's Hospice (where we will be interacting with the children, and trying to brighten their days) and Mosamaria (an Aids charity where we will be accompanying their workers visiting people in their homes conducting Aids testing and generally ministering to those afflicted by this terrible disease).
Any donations will help us reach our goal of being able to go to South Africa and help these charities in their vital work. My personal target is to raise at least £100 every month between now and July 2018.
To help raise the required funds I have already co-hosted a vicarage garden party at our local Church (which in itself helps to bring people in the local community together), and completed the 60 mile Manchester to Blackpool cycle ride. Other events being planned include cake bakes, and a tea dance.
By supporting me on this trip your amazing help will not only be answering my prayers but you will also be helping to make a difference to people less fortunate than me. Again, thank you.
God bless
Emily.
