Emily is a Christian, single mum who works away from her home during the week to support her daughter, Elsie, who is in Grade 12 (equivalent to final year A-levels). They live just outside Durban, South Africa. Emily works one day a week for my parents.

Yesterday her house was burned down by thieves who went on a rampage. She has nothing left except the clothes and odd shoes that she is wearing. She is thankful that she and daughter could escape their house but they are left with nothing.

All her daughter's books for her upcoming exams and all their worldly posessions have been consumed by the fire.
