In Costa Rica and Nicaragua, I will be helping local communities less privileged than myself, by building new schools and facilities. I will also be getting to know the community by engaging in cultural activities with them, and therefore building a relationship with the community. I care about this because I think it is important to learn about different cultures and strive to help those less privileged than ourselves. I will also be trekking through the different variations of terrain found in these countries for about 12 days with my team. This will teach us important life skills such as teamwork, resilience and leadership, as well as seeing the landscape and animals of Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
