I've raised £1000 to Help fund items Emily will need.

UPDATE: March 2019. Next event taken place soon.
I've set up this page to help my daughter Emily who has Rett syndrome.
Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder affecting mainly females and very few males. It is present from conception and usually remains undetected until major regression occurs at around one year of age, when children may lose acquired skills and become withdrawn. Genetic but largely not inherited, Rett syndrome is usually caused by a fault on a gene called MECP2 which is found on the X chromosome. People with Rett syndrome have profound and multiple physical and communication disabilities and are totally reliant on others for support throughout their lives.
As Emily grows up we will need more equipment, seats for the house, car etc. Sensory equipment. Communication equipment and anything else that crops up. To help I'm planning on doing some sponsored events with the aim of raising some money to help Emily. Some of the donations will also go to the Rett charities to help with their work in trying to find a cure.
EVENT 2. April 2019
Time for my second event. I'm going to cycle whats known as the Badger Divide, a 220ish mile (mostly off road) journey from Inverness to Glasgow. Will do it over a few days. Carrying everything I need on the bike, either camping out or staying in bothies. Going to be a lot of climbs and some tough parts but its all for a good cause.
If you would like to help Emily by sponsoring me then any donataion, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciated. To those who have alrady donated huge thanks.
This page will be updated with other events as they happen. Please share it if you can. Also if anyone else would like to do any events to help Emily then please contact me.
Thanks in advance
Robbie
