I'm raising £10000 to help my husband who has terminal bile duct cancer & myself, for travel to trials and making memories etc.

My husband Simon was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in Oct 2022. He got an infection which hospitalised him for months before they could get him well enough to remove 80% of his liver in March 2023. He then had 6 months of chemo which worked for a while. However in Feb 2024 we were informed that the cancer is now in his lungs and it's terminal. He's now on palliative chemo.
He's only 35, they have no data for someone so young, the best scenario they have seen for metastatic bile duct cancer, so far, is three years. There are no local trials but we hope that there might be ones elsewhere. This money would help us to travel to find trials which might extend his life.
It will also enable me to cut down my working hours to spend as much time making memories with him as I can. Being young, he was sure he'd never need critical illness cover, so things will be challenging when he's not well enough to work anymore. Without help we won't be able to get to where the trials are.
We were engaged when the initial diagnosis happened, had a quick registry office wedding in Dec '22 and once the first chemo was over had a proper redo wedding in Dec '23. We had booked our honeymoon for May '24 but have been forced to cancel it due to the palliative treatments. I want to make what little amount of married life we are going to get as special as I can and I am not too proud to ask for help.
