I am doing a sponsored hair cut! I have had long hair for years and usually only manage a trim once or twice a year. So I figured I need a motivator to have a good cut and it’d be great to do it for a fantastic cause. So I’m going to have at least 30cm cut off and donate the hair itself to the Little Princess Trust (they make wigs for children battling cancer). But to also be able to support something close to my heart I want to make it a sponsored event (to ensure I dont back out! I‘m quite anxious about such a big change!!)

So I would like to raise money for my son’s school, primarily the Enhanced Resource Unit in which he is educated. The unit supports and develops students whose primary diagnosis is Autism. It would be amazing to raise enough to pay for them to go on a fully supported trip or purchase extra equipment and resources like their sensory area.

The school is fantastic and does an amazing and inspiring job with the students, so this is my way of saying thank you for all they do for my son. My son has only been there 2 years but he was completely non-verbal when he started and largely overwhelmed by his sensory needs. Now he is finding his voice and this has really helped open up his world! That’s thanks to the amazing team effort between family, speech therapy and the support, understanding and dedication of school staff.
