Story

If all goes well, i will take part in my first competition since i have had my stroke in a months time. This is my biggest challenge i think so far as i dont have the stamina to continue for a whole cross country course in one go! Of course the more i have been riding to build up my stamina, Zero my horse is getting fitter and fitter and as an ex racehorse he is streets ahead of me which in itself an issue as i try control his speed and fitness whilst coping with my lack of breath! i am determind though to try and help the wonderful nursing staff who looked after me and got me mobile after life’s unexpected turn of events when a stroke left me unable to walk or talk 2 years ago . Its not been an easy journey to get to where i am now, but ive always had this thought in the back of my mind. I can raise money to buy a stroke bed for the stroke unit at the Borders General Hospital. I plan to compete at the Ian Stark Equestrian Centres Hunter Trial on Sunday 20th March 2022. This is where i first got on an RDA horse 6 weeks aftet having a stroke. Its what kept me going, my love of horses and riding. Please help me reach my goal of being able to provide a bed for the unit. I also plan to climb Goat Fell on Arran later if the year.
