Tomorrow a personal friend and his partner face driving through Italy from Germany to Greece. They already know when they arrive home they face the destruction of Angela's families farm and the income that would have been produced by it for the year.

£5,000 won't replace that, it won't replace their home or their livelihood. It won't replace belongings or memories. But what it will do is show that they are not alone, forgotten or ignored. It will buy the basics and some clothing and food for the next short while. It will be a way of letting them know that we are thinking of them during this awful time. Anything that you can spare to help them will be pence or pounds they don't have to try to find at a time where just surviving has become a priority.
