In September I am taking part in a trek to Everest Base Camp to raise £1000 for the Shining Stars Childrens Home in Nepal. Nepal is one of the worlds poorest countries, and was left devastated by the 2015 earthquake, which killed nearly 9000 people across Nepal including 19 climbers at Base Camp. Shining Stars is home to nearly 20 children, mostly orphans and some who lost their parents in this natural disaster. The money I raise will go to this fantastic place, which provides a stable and loving environment with the hopes they will become successful adults that can give back to their community.
