Story

My daughter and her friend decided, on a wellbeing walk on friday, that they would meet the very next day at 6am and walk a marathon. Yes thats right 42km 26miles on foot.

At 12 and 13 years old they set early door alarms and left their houses with a meer cereal bar at 5.40am to set off on a journey they had no training or a plan for.

A couple of socially distanced pit stops for warming up, eating, drinking and change of wet socks and shoes they endured a painful 16 hours to complete this mega task......

I'm super proud to say they absolutely nailed it.

It was very emotional and proof of a fantastic friendship these girls have. They spurred each other on when the other wanted to quit the other talked the out of it....... I trailed behind them for the last 5km, we had tears and tribulations but I was on hand to spur them on closing in to10pm.....

They hadn't originally set out to raise money but so many people asked what they were raising money for, So I put it to them.... here it is.

If you think they deserve to see the rewards of what they maybe foolishly at the time took on..... to say they completed the mission, then please spare a pound or few to show your praise. During the last 5k we talked about what they wanted to raise funds for .... after much deliberation they decided on a cause very close to home. Both Ruby's grandparents are and have endured cancer treatment. A cancer charity of their choice will receive 50% of funds raised and the two girls are the biggest animal lovers i know an animal charity has to play a part in their funding so they shall receive the other 50%

We will let everyone know once all funds have been received.

Many thanks for reading my story......
One proud mum and two extremely determined strong young ladies that will go far in life. GO GIRLS 🥰
