Story

On the day he turned eight months, Joanne, Lochie’s mum & my best friend, phoned to tell me the worst possible news: that her happy, wee baby boy had cancer.

Since then, Lochie has endured over seven months of the most intensive treatment for stage-four, high-risk neuroblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancer. He has had chemotherapy, invasive surgery and a stem-cell transplant as well as regular blood & platelet transfusions and Lochie (now 15 months old) still has a further six months of treatment ahead of him.

Throughout all of this, Lochie has continued to be the happiest baby I’ve ever met and Joanne & her husband David have shown incredible strength in the face of arguably the worst circumstances any parent could ever find themselves in. Now, they have started a fund which will give something back to the charities which have helped them get through the last seven months as well as for support Lochie might need in the future.

Times are tough so anything you can donate is massively appreciated and, if you can’t afford to donate, a share on Facebook is just as appreciated x
