Story

Hi,

I’m Emma. Like many people that support charities I believe that people should help one another wherever possible. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the best start in life but with a support, some education and the tools they need, people can usually begin to help themselves to a better future . I am an avid believer in the saying: “Give a man a fish and he will eat once, give a man a fishing rod and he will eat every day”.

Team for Kids holds that very belief too; providing youth programs, events and resources to aid, improve and empower them to have better lives!

The organisation was founded in 2002 and they have the single goal of teaching children vital skills such as teamwork, perseverance and equality through sports and activities. Team for Kids also addresses childhood obesity and other health issues, bringing knowledge, support and advice to organisations and schools around the country.

In order to support this great cause I am taking on one of the activities that Team for Kids supports SO heavily, and running the New York Marathon and therefore continuing to support the good work that allows possibilities for children in the future. Whilst it’s unlikely children nowadays will want fishing rods, I’m committed to doing what I can by way of helping them get closer to the futures they deserve.
