Emma is my cousin, she is a cardiology nurse. Her husband Paul is a paramedic. They are two of the hardest workers I know. Especially during this difficult time, they are both working hard and long hours on the frontline, working opposite shifts barely seeing eachother or their children, putting themselves at risk like many others to keep us all safe.

A life-long dream of owning a motor home to enjoy the little time they have as a family, has been shattered due to falling victim to a £14,000 scam.

Remortgaging their home to enable them to create memories for themselves and their children Marley 10, Maxwell 8 and Maisie 4, to last a lifetime and make the most of the precious time they do have together as a family, appears to have been for nothing.

They were as thorough as they could be, with Paul even checking the details of the motor home on the DLVA website and everything appeared to be legitimate.

For this to happen to anybody is tragic, but to see this happen to a family that are so selfless and that would go out of their way to help anybody in need, it truly is heart breaking.

Recovery of any of the money lost seems extremely unlikely. Even if between us we managed to compensate for a percentage of the money lost, it would restore a little faith that there are people out their who have a heart.

I hope between us all, we can find it in our hearts to empathise with the devastation they will be feeling and any contribution made will make a difference.
