Today I ask for support to raise money for two beautiful children Matthew and Megan, to help towards their future as they were tragically left without their Dad - Chris.

April 29th 2017 started off as a standard Saturday for me. Park Run followed by a cheeky trip to Marlow for a potter. Like most of us, I am never without my phone but today I was......

Upon realising I had umpteen missed calls, I wasn't prepared physically or mentally for the conversation that followed. The words truly etched in my heart to this day. I couldn't catch my breath or begin to speak. A stranger in a car nearby, slipped into my passenger seat. Saying nothing but adding gravity to my drowning.

Tragically, my best friend Chris was taken from us at the young age of 39. An acute coronary arterial thrombosis, no warning.. his two children witness. Leaving behind his beautiful wife and soulmate Nicola.

It's always hard to describe how much people mean to us and the value they add to our lives when not the conventional relation. Chris and Nicola have been friends of mine for over twenty years - my whole adult lifetime. As a couple they taught me what love and family truly means; the times we shared incredible.

Watching Nic and the children grieve has been so painful, but Chris's infectious laugh and positive outlook lives on in the children. I can hear his laugh most days, a memory I will cherish forever.

Running is my passion, but I have never made it past half a marathon. A mental block and fear.

October 6th 2018, I will run my first marathon in Galway - Ireland in memory of Chris and all money raised will go directly to Matthew and Megan. The smallest contribution will make the world of difference. Thank you for reading my story and for any donation you can make x
