Story
We will be running the route from James Cook Hospital to the Defence Rehabilitation Centre in Loughborough (approx 140 miles) over the duration of 6 days to help raise the money for this amazing young woman. The event will take place starting on the 06 October, starting at James Cook.
On 03 March 2019, Lance Corporal Emma Lumb had a serious and life changing Road Traffic Collision, breaking her neck and Spinal Cord, resulting in C4 paralysis (everything below the shoulders).
The event had a wide ranging and devastating effect on a young woman and her family. Despite her injuries Emma remains an inspiration and has remained positive in the face of adversity and challenge.
For those of you that have had the pleasure of meeting Emma you will know that she is fiercely independent and is keen to maintain as much of this as possible. She will require a considerable amount of care in addition to specialised equipment to offer her the best possible quality of life for her and her Son Lucus.
Emma has served her country with distinction over the past six years as a professional driver within the Royal Logistic Corps and deserves the help and support of others in her time of need. We kindly ask that if you are able; you donate what you can and share this page to your friends and family.
Emma’s Parents have planned how they will best utilise the money in order to allow her the greatest possible level of independence, including creating Emma her own living space with features that will make her care as comfortable as possible.
Any and every donation will be appreciated and will contribute to making Emma’s life as fulfilling as possible.
Thank You.
