I've raised £3000 to Friends of Himalayan Children

I have been very touched by the plight of the children of Batase Village in Nepal many of whom were left homeless and orphaned by the devastation of their village following the earthquake of 2015. A local villager Som Tamang has worked tirelessly to restore the village and provide shelter and educational facilities through his charity Friends of Himalayan Children, an humanitarian organisation working to stop child labour and child slavery through providing access to education, a safe home for disadvantaged children and community development projects in rural Nepal.

I am supporting this work by undertaking a 14 day trek to Everest Base Camp and would be immensely grateful for any donation that you can offer to help continue the amazing work being done to provide these children and in particular the young girls with an education providing them with opportunities for employment that will save them from the risk of exploitation through child trafficking.
All participants including hikers and the support team are female and I am undertaking the physical challenge in memory of the strong women who have guided me in my life - my mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and twin sister.
