Story

This is Edward, he's 3 and likes most things that all little boys enjoy: vehicles, kicking a ball, enjoys outdoors and an affinity for animals. He has just been put on the ASD pathway for autism after a gruelling wait. He struggles with his vehicle obssession, he will bolt into traffic to touch the car to feel its texture and read the number plate and become distressed that we have to go back home. He won't play football with children his own age, he struggles to socialise. Making eye contact with people he is not familiar with is very distressing for him and he will lash out at me (mum). Getting out and about is becoming extremely difficult for him as his anxieties become more apparent. We have had to reduce his time in nursery as its so distressing for him just getting there. He is missing out on what is an important aspect of his life, pre-school, one-2-one time with his nursery staff and the opportunity to socialise. Walking to the shop is becoming difficult because there is a fire station that we cannot avoid, he becomes extremely distressed because he wants to be there and nowhere else and no matter what we do or say, he will meltdown. He adores our 2 cats so much that if they go outside, he will have a meltdown. He craves touching them and giving them affection.
Very recently my wonderful neighbour asked Edward if he would like to walk her dog... we were astonished!Edward walked the dog like a pro!Traffic did not phase him, noises were just background noise and he gladly walked to the shops and back like he had done it every day meldown free!

We need your help. Please help us fund a very special dog for our son.A Hungarian Viszla (or velcro dog).We will be able to get out a lot more, he can get back to nursery and he will have a best friend who can give him the affection he so craves from his animal friends.A very special dog like this requires £1200 just to buy. If we can make this amount or more Edward can have the support he needs. Thank you so much xxx
