    Story

Promising rugby player, Mathew Hayden 17, was left with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain after being brutally attacked by a group of 4 Asian males in Rochdale.

The unprovoked attack started when the group of Asian males rammed the car he was a passenger in, then as Mathew got out of the car he was mowed down, the Asian males then set about Mathew with golf clubs . Also disturbing is the call he made to his parents to say his good buys as he lay in a pool of blood believing he was going to die.

Sadly, due to the extent of his injuries Matthew has been forced to give up a scholarship that he had won at a university in America this summer and it is feared he may never be able to play rugby again.

We want to help Mathew with his recovery, hopefully he will once again be playing rugby, however if this doesn't happen and this brutal attack has stopped his promising rugby career, and potential loss of the Scholarship in the US, we want to make sure he has the finances to fund his education for his new career.
