Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
"Communication leads to community, that is, to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing" - Rollo May.
Our goal is to improve social cohesion in Leeds by providing free English lessons to adult speakers of other languages.
Our classes are run with the help of our team of fully qualified teachers and ever-growing army of volunteers who have truly connected with our cause. We all believe in this organisation and believe many more will too.
We have an open door policy where anybody is able to attend our classes as long as they are over 18 years of age. Our classes are every Saturday and cater to all levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Combined with our weekly coffee meet ups, we are able to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for students to practice English with one another, and more importantly, feel part of our Leeds community.
From inception in October 2016 we now have 165 'students' sharing 50 different nationalities between them. On average, we are registering 5 new students each week.
We are currently self-funded by two very generous individuals, one of whom is the founder Nick Conibear. The money raised will enable us to meet our demand more closely by firstly offering more lessons and secondly, by offering longer lessons.
Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated.
