Story
A few months back I signed up for the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle. This takes place every July in County Kerry, Ireland and seeks to raise funds for lots of worthwhile charities. The cycle itself is very demanding to say the least; a total of 175km around the coastal areas of Kerry. My cycling experience to date is non-existent. A 30 second conversation with Stuart Clarke the last time he was in Cork is pretty much it. Suffice to say I will really struggle with this…
Every cyclist has to complete to some fund raising as part of the effort with every euro or pound raised going to their nominated charity. I have nominated the Downs Syndrome Kerry organisation for my funds. They offer support and services to people with Down syndrome and their families throughout Kerry. Attached is the sponsorship card which has some information on the Cycle. You can get plenty more information and pictures on the website if you are interested. https://www.ringofkerrycycle.ie/
Due to very tight regulations on the financial reporting of charities in Ireland (as a result of some high profile scandals) anonymous donations are not allowed for this event so every donation has to be on my sponsorship card and paid as one lump sum to the charity. Therefore, donations on this platform will need to go to my personal account and then paid by me to the charity in one combined donation.
Any donation, small or big, would be very much appreciated.
