Maddie the rescue pony needs URGENT medical treatment to help resolve a breathing issue
Maddie is a much loved rescue pony owned by The Epona Trust a non-profit organisation which specialises in the rescue and rehabilitation of horses and ponies from difficult and challenging backgrounds. She is very popular with young and small adult riders, including those with special needs and in particular beginners, as she is very steady, patient and kind. You can read her background story here
The Epona Trust is solely funded by individual sponsorship of ponies, donations and fundraising events. Please help us to get the lovely little Maddie back to full health and able to continue providing joy to so many.
Maddie developed a strange noise when breathing. Following tests by the local vet, including an endoscope, she was found to have a curtain of tissue draping across her windpipe. Maddie is now booked to go to a specialist equine hospital for another endoscopic view by a surgeon. This will cost £1800. If the surgeon determines that they can operate, then surgery will cost a minimum of £2000 with a likely further £1800 depending on what the endoscopy shows. All of which is in addition to the local vet bill for treatment so far.
Thank you from all at The Epona Trust 💕
