    Story

We have already raised £7000 with the help of our very generous supporters. Now we must raise the remaining £3000 to hit our £10K target and renovate Erenjang nursery.

Erenjang Nursery School is situated in the very pool village of Kotu, The Gambia, West Africa and is in desperate need of renovation.
The nursery school houses 118 children aged 2-7 years old. Sadly, funding through local support or from the nursery itself is near impossible.
For the majority of children in Kotu, school is their only opportunity to live a normal life. Out of education the reality of life is tough. Gambia is one of Africa smallest and poorest nations, ranking 168th out of the 187 countries in the UN. Children are often raised by their not much older brothers and sisters and required to work from a very young age.
Education gives hope of a better future. It is their start to equal opportunity, development and gives them a place they can learn, play and grow like every child deserves to.
The current condition of Erenjang means teachers are untrained, learning takes place in an unsanitary, run down and dark environment with limited resource. Our mission is to transform Erenjang into a safer and brighter environment bringing the best possible start and a hope to its children.
