As most people know im currently 23 weeks pregnant which means it was 3 weeks ago when we found out we‘re having a beautiful baby boy. Sadly we also found out that our baby has CCAM which without going into loads of detail basically means part of his left lung tissue hasnt formed properly and has cysts on it which are causing his heart to be pushed to the right. We’ve been told by the amazing fetal medicine team that in most cases this either shrinks or stays the same and won’t affect him anymore than it already is, however they also told us that theres a 1 in 3 chance that this will grow, causing the rest of his lung to be squashed and in some cases can lead to heart failure.

Ive decided that since its my 18th birthday soon and theres not much i want/can do for it, i‘d love for people to donate money to this justgiving page so that i can give back to the lovely staff who are going to help me through the rest of my pregnancy and keep checking our little boy regularly to make sure nothing gets worse - which we‘re praying it doesn’t - but if it does it’ll be the staff from this department that help us and our baby boy, and for that we’re so grateful.
