I'm fundraising £1,000 to support my attendance at the World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland.

I have been a Scout since I was 5, my parents are Scouts and they met while on a Scouting event so you could say Scouting is in my blood!

At the end of 2025, I applied for selection to represent West Yorkshire Scouts at the World Scout Jamboree. The WSJ is one of the largest outdoor educational events for youth on the planet. Tens of thousands of Scouts from all over the world come together to camp outdoors and join in fun activities where they make new friends, learn about other cultures, and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime. The 2027 WSJ will be held from 30 July to 8 August 2027 in Gdańsk, Poland.

The chances of being selected were slim with hundreds of applicants across the West Yorkshire district applying for the highly-sought-after places. Amazingly though, I was selected to be one of just 36 representatives from West Yorkshire! I am really excited about this opportunity and know that I will get so much out of the experience which will help me in later life. I am also really proud to have been selected - the application and 'interview' process wasn't easy which makes it even more special. It will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

In order to secure my place at the Jamboree, I had to agree to fundraise over £3,000. This money covers the cost of flights and local transport to the huge campsite in Poland, accommodation and food whilst there and all the outdoor and adventurous activities we will enjoy whilst there.

I am intending to host some other events to support my fundraising, including a marathon and half marathon, but hope that this JustGiving page will be able to contribute to my efforts as well.
