Story
Soliciting funds for dialysis and kidney transplant to help Ernest Opoku Gyau, 34 years of age who for the last eight months have been in and out of hospital due to Stage V kidney failure.
As a result of this, Ernest has to go for two dialysis sessions every week. Until he was diagnosed with kidney failure. Ernest worked as a foreman in a construction firm but as his health deteriorated he has been out of work and currently relies solely on his family for financial support.
This new event has brought financial hardship on the family who are low income earners, we’re kindly requesting for your financial assistance to enable him get a kidney transplant at the Apollo Hospital in Mumbai, India to help him get better and to be able to go back to work and enjoy a normal family life.
His sister will be donating her kidney to make sure he fully recovers. The cost has been estimated to be US$24,737 to cater for entire bill and also for her sister who will be donating her kidney and for a cousin who will be travelling with them as a care taker.
Below is the breakdown of how the money will be used:
Treatment and transplant: US$ 18,500
Visa application fees (Three persons): US$ 153
Flight (Three persons): US$ 2,550
Accommodation in India: US$ 2,660
Miscellaneous: US$ 874
Total: US$ 24,737

Any funds that will not be spent will be donated to a charity that helps people with kidney failure in Ghana.
