Story

Hi Everyone,

As some of you know, I have joined Peckham Town Football Club as a Manager/Coach for the 2018-2019 season to set up a new under 16s team. Many of the boys I have worked with over the last 8 years will be joining me there. I do this as a volunteer but the costs for them to play at this level and with decent facilities are considerably higher than what they’ve had to pay in the past, so I feel an obligation to try and get the fees down to an affordable figure. If we hit target the money raised will cover the costs of the home and away playing kits.

I will be hoping to emulate Jordan Pickford's heroics in a sponsored penalty shoot out, where I along with my u16s goalkeeper Ricardo will face 600 penalties from the public and players at Peckham Town FC. Goalkeeper is not my position and at my age it's probably not the brightest idea I've had, but what's the point of a challenge eh?

The penalty shoot-out will take place Saturday 8th Septemeber 2018, from 9:30 and (depending on first team fixtures) will be either at Peckham Towns Menace Arena or the training ground across the road. 37 Dulwich Common, SE21 7EU and Pynners Close, Dulwich Common, SE21 7HA, respectively. So please come down, make a donation (on-line or on the day) and try to put a few past us.

'What's in it for me?' you may ask yourself. How about the warm fuzzy positive feeling that you get knowing that you will be helping some kids stay in grassroots football and off the streets at an important stage in their lives; that you've kept them away from their Xboxes while they do something positive and fulfilling over the weekend and that you’ve kept them fit, stimulated and less stressed in their GCSE year. Not enough? Well if you make a donation of £10 or more I'll treat you to a professional profile portrait. I'll be arranging 2 dates where you can drop in to a pop-up studio; one will be at Peterborough United's Football ground, courtesy of Horris Jones and the other will be at Peckham Town’s Training Ground at Pynners Close.

All donations are welcome, whether it’s £1 or a million. Anything over our target will be used to purchase equipment and subsidise match fees. I am particularly looking forward to receiving appropriate donations from anyone over the years that has borrowed (and not returned) from my reggae vinyl or arthouse film collection.

Thanks

Erroll
