Story
Baby esmai my gorgeous grandaughter was born by emergency c section in October 2017 shortly after birth she went into seizure and was put on life support. A mri revealed major brain damage accross her whole brain and her pons had almost disappeared. Drs prepared us for the worst and told us it was unlikely she would survive without life support. Amazing she started to breathe for herself a second mri revealed that more damage to the brain and we were told she was unlikely to survive until Christmas and bit by bit her swallow , breathing etc would decline. She made it till Christmas and a 3rd mri revealed more damage but things have slowed down .
She had a diagnosis now of hypoxic ischemic encethalopy grade 3, epilepsy and dystonia and bilateral spastic cerebal palsy and cortical vison impairment. She is going to need a lot of support and equipment through her life .
Rather than wedding presents dave and I would prefer a small donation to esmai to enable us to buy her some sensory lights and vibrating toys which seem to be the only things that calm esmai. This equipment is very expensive so any donations are so welcome
Esmai is a baby with very complex needs and we want to do all we can to help her get the best out of life
