On the 8th December 2016 I will embark on a trip of a lifetime to Rajasthan in India. This trip is organised by my school, St Chris, in Letchwork Garden City, and since its inception in 1990, the aim of the project has been to form an educational link with a number of institutions in Rajasthan.

The trip will take us to Delhi, Agra, Udaipur, Jaipur and back to Delhi on the 23rd December for the trip back home. We'll visit cultural, educational and social interest places in Jaipur and Agra and stay at the NGO, Seva Mandir, in Udaipur to participate, witness and learn about the work of this organisation in the area of rural development in the fields of health, education, income generation and ecology. At this school we will spend some time teaching and working with the kids; using teaching plans we have put together before we leave.

We will teach in three different schools. In Jaipur for disabled children (http://www.umangindia.org), in Udaipur a literacy camp for children that do not have access to schools in their remote villages and are enrolled in this camp for a few months of learning (http://www.sevamandir.org/education) and in a nearby town a Womans Refuge where some of the woman have children (sorry there isn't a website for this facility).

We have our assigned subjects to teach - I am in the English Group - and we are also working on a play to perform at the schools. We chose the Pied Piper because there is a lot of opportunity to get the kids involved and participate and there is a musical element also.

As part of this project, we are encouraged to raise funds to help these institutions in Rajasthan. I have raised nearly half of the £500 target through babysitting, cake sales and by donations, but I would like a little help to get closer to my target this is why I am setting up this page, to ask that my friends and family might donate a little money for me to take to these amazing NGOs.
