My sister in law, ( my husband's little sister) has only recently lost her husband at the age of 40. He left behind 3 little children at the ages of 11, 8 and 6. Denis, Kleart and Kea are currently living in a small village in the southeast of Albania in miserable conditions together with their Mum.
It is so heartbreaking thinking that these 3 beautiful children, 2 of them nearly same age as my son, are struggling to get fed, dressed properly and get the daily essentials.
The only support she is getting financially at the moment is from my husband and myself.
Even though we've got one child of our own, we'll do our best to provide for 3 more.
It is such a shame and so unlucky that in this day and age they live in a country where they get not support whatsoever from the government.
I know it might sound unbeliviable to most of you, but the only thing she gets as a single mother with 3 kids is 4000 Al which equals to around £25 a month.
That's cruel considering that this poor mother lives in a place where there are no work opportunities at all and the prices are as high as in every other European country.
Anger and frustration is what I feel at the moment. I feel so sorry for that country. You get both ends of the extreme there. You get people who don't know what to do with their money on one end, and people who are struggling to survive on the other end..
It's a beautiful country, but it's such a shame that it is being ruled by a bunch of ugly, corrupted people who only think about themselves.
Who can blame us for leaving our good jobs back there and moving over here?!
Anyway my husband and I will work hard to make sure that those 3 children, who unfortunately will be raised without their Dad, do not miss out on anything else.
Any extra help however small it might seem to you would be greatly appreciated.
