Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Our daughter Esme was born early due to failing to grow, and struggled to gain weight once born it took her 1month to regain her birth weight and was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis shortly after.
Cystic a Fibrosis is s progressive disease and effects mainly the lungs and digestive system with the build up of mucus.
she is now under the care of the great CF team at Birmingham children's hospital, and has a strict regime of giving lots of different medicines throughout the day and intensive percussion physiotherapy on her chest and back this involves firm strike like motions to various points on her body this has to be done multiple times a day to keep her body functioning,
We are trying to raise money to buy the physiotherapy vest which is not available on the NHS to us, but will help massively in her treatment at home..
more about the vest
‘The Vest’ is an advanced airway clearance system for people with CF. The device uses a system called High-Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO). It is attached to an air pulse generator which rapidly inflates and deflates the garment, gently compressing and releasing the chest wall up to 20 times per second. This process creates ‘mini coughs’ that dislodge mucus from the bronchial walls, increases mobilisation and moves it along towards the central airways. Once the mucous has been moved from the smaller to larger airways, it can be easily removed by coughing or suctioning.
'The Vest' the vest allows children to be treated at home, which in most cases cut down the need for hospital admissions, which are extremely disruptive to everyday life. Regular mucous clearance keeps lungs as clear as possible, which reduces the impact of CF on children’s bodies, giving a better quality of life, and hopefully the chance for a longer lifespan.
we as a family will be more than grateful for any donations.
