Story
At the age of 2, Josh Waddell was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia which affects his lower limbs and leaves him unable to walk unaided. Over the years, Josh has learned to overcome his disability and has been able to engage in many opportunities. Through a Sports-Ability event, Josh met his fencing coach Laszlo Jakab. Seven years later, Josh is now the Under 17 World Number One at the age of just 15, with the hope and the potential to represent Great Britian in the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. He now must compete internationally to improve his world ranking. However, Josh is not sponsored so his parents have to fund all costs themselves, which is financially challenging for them. Overall, it is estimated that £30,000 must be raised to cover all costs. We have decided to help Josh fund raise; Beth and Evie will be doing the Junior Great North Run and Estelle will be doing the Great North Run and giving all sponsorship money to his fund.
