Story

Rydal Penrhos pupils will have the chance to go on the trip of a lifetime next year - an educational trip to India aimed at enhancing pupils’ learning in global issues.

Fundraising is a key element of the trip!

90% of the target can be raised from Individual fundraising.

10% of the target can be raised from Team fundraising during termtime.

Global Action is organising the trip and has 10 years’ experience in successfully helping teams fundraise. Global Action will set up a Fundraising Committee and will visit my team regularly to advise team members on fundraising activities with the maximum financial return.

The trip will be of particular benefit to A-level pupils that are studying either Religious Studies, Geography, Business Studies/Economics, or Biology.

All students will automatically earn the widely recognised ASDAN Universities Award, which looks excellent on University UCAS Applications.

Details of the trip:

The expedition starts by visiting Amritsar’s Golden Temple, and will later visit the spectacular Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Based in the foothills of the beautiful Indian Himalayas, my group also plans to have a special audience with The Dalai Lama to learn about respect for all religions.

In addition, my team and staff will also take part in unique workshops with experts at international development agencies, to learn about: Sustainable Development, Fair Trade, and Environmental Protection throughout the Himalayas.

My team will then work on a well-planned poverty-reduction project with a UK charity, where we will assist in the building of a new children’s hostel, so mountain children can attend school for the first time in their lives.

We are set to finish the expedition by visiting Buddhist monasteries, to learn from renowned lamas how to practice positive mindfulness in our lives. The expedition will give all participants a unique opportunity to learn about leadership, teamwork, and self-reliance: crucial life-skills.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, any donations will be gratefully received.
