Weʼve raised £2,585 to help re-open Ettington's Church.

    Story

Ettington's much loved church - Holy Trinity and St Thomas of Canterbury - is in a precarious position and we urgently need the support of our community to re-open and keep it open.

The building is in a very fragile state (leaking roof, crumbling mortar in the bell tower, inside we have a rotten floor, a boiler which is about to give up and is operating at best at 5% efficiency, lighting is poor, the oak frames which support the bells has woodworm and our organ needs a complete overhaul/rebuild).

Even before that, we are struggling to cover our basic running costs and running a £10k per annum loss. If we were a business, we would have ceased trading many years ago. If we do not address this, we will not be able to continue with our church. Our church, your church, needs the financial support of local residents to ensure it can continue to play a role in our community.

Our church, your church, needs the financial support of local residents to ensure it can continue to play a role in our community.

And now we have a dangerous tree in the churchyard which further threatens the future of our church. It will cost £5k to remove safely – we simply do not have the resources to cover this amount .

Please make a donation to help us re-open and keep open our church for all our community - bless you.

We're not only here for weddings, baptisms and funerals, but without your support Ettington may lose its church

We've only been live since Tuesday 7th July and are so please that we have raised 38% of our target, just short of £2,000. We are ever so grateful to our donors and we ask that you help spread the word especially to those who may not be aware of social media. We will over the next week continue to promote the campaign. If you would like a flyer please let me know via this site
