Story

This page is for our first cause, Unity Sisters, more below!

Tracey and I are excited to take on the Santa Dash on Dec 7! While we often joke that our only reason to run is to catch the train, this time we’re lacing up for two causes close to our hearts. If you know us, you know how significant this challenge is for us! 😂

Unity Sisters is a peer group dedicated to supporting refugee and asylum-seeking women rooted in the power of shared experience. Established in 2014, this grassroots, women-led collective has been instrumental in helping women find safety, build community, and foster new beginnings.

They provide crucial emotional and practical support, help navigate the asylum system, and offer referrals for food banks, English (ESOL) classes and translation services. Additionally, they focus on social integration, community solidarity, and practical aid for both women and their families.

Over the years, Unity Sisters has expanded its reach, currently supporting dozens of women and their families. The group organises regular meetings, community-building events, and peer-advocacy workshops, all aimed at combating isolation and trauma and addressing the systemic barriers that asylum seekers often encounter in Glasgow.

✨ Our second cause is Gaza Soup Kitchen, a grassroots effort that serves daily meals in Gaza, working to uphold dignity and resilience amid the ongoing crisis. We have created a different page for this.

You can choose to support either or, even better, both!!!

Every contribution—no matter the size—makes a difference and helps strengthen their invaluable work.

Thank you for joining us on this journey! Your support means the world! 🥰
