I know we are all remotely worried about what is happening in the Eastern part of Europe. My close family is there, and I decided that there is no point to wait for the situation to escalate. Life in Ukraine is very hard without the threat of war. Therefore, I would like to raise money for the families (that I know personally) and for my village Ubla in Slovakia, which is on the border with Ukraine. The villagers have already prepared to accommodate 500 people. It is truly remarkable as the village has only 650 inhabitants. 100% of your donations will go directly to the Ukrainian people. There will probably be a point where I will have to withdraw money and take it to Ukraine as the bank transfers might be complicated. But I will keep you posted about that. I know we all want to help, and it is nice to show solidarity by posting a Ukrainian flag on your FB cover page. But it is not enough. Your £5 will provide food for the whole family for a day.
