In the Summer of 2019, I have been given the privilege of joining another eighteen young Scouts from across Coventry to attend a ‘Jamboree’ in the United States. It is a four-yearly event in the World Organisation of the Scout Movement’s calendar, and it is an opportunity to meet with Scouts from around the world and come together as one large, diverse, very loud family and to eat together, learn together and grow together.

My personal challenge to start my fundraising and help raise funds towards this amazing trip begins with me attempting to swim the equivalent distance of the English Channel in a swimming pool, which is 22 miles or 1340 lengths of my local 25m swimming pool.

This is just the beginning of my journey, I will need to embark on further challenges to push my abilities to the limit and to show people what this means to me as a person.
