    Story

Saints Sled Dog Rescue is a charity which is specifically for the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies. We purely rely on volunteers to provide Foster homes where we can further assess dogs in a family home environment to determine a relinquished dogs needs so we can place them in the right adoptive forever home. Unfortunately we are seeing increasing numbers of dogs needing to come into our care and have a waiting list.
We are currently trying to raise funds (target of £100,000) so we can secure a mortgage to buy a ready functioning kennels property where we provide a boarding for dogs which we mean the kennels pay for themselves and we can then have a rehoming centre where we can help more dogs, educate people about the Sled Dog breeds and also give demonstrations of what the breeds were typically used for. We would like to have a gift/souvenir shop and a cafe so we can provide facilities for a family day out. This is our vision to be fulfilled over the next 10 years, and hopefully the education will help to reduce these increasing numbers we see every year. Our current fundraising at dog shows nationwide barely cover the costs vet and care bills.
My story first began when I adopted my girl Smudge through Saints. I then decided to become a volunteer coordinator and then through this took an emergency Foster in. Jasper came to me through no fault of his own, he had some medical issues which we are now on top of. He stole my heart and I adopted him as I couldn't bear to see him go. As a thank you to Saints for bringing these 2 beautiful Malamutes into my life Smudge and I have decided to do this challenge to raise money for Saints. We will be completing a 5k circuit where we have to plough through muddy ditches, over obstacles and through water. Please sponsor us so we can get closer to raising these funds to help a charity that is so dear to my heart. Thank you in advance, love Smudge, Jasper and Eve xxx
