Story

Our twin girls are due on August 13th, they’ll be brought into a very small and loving family, but unfortunately the place that they’ll be staying we cannot call home.

Moving in to our house, we knew it was going to be a challenge and that making it a home would take a while. We didn’t expect that I’d get pregnant so soon, we were trying but had never had much luck... always thinking I was and then a week later we were back to square one.

I spent all of my first trimester in and out of hospital with Hypremesis Gravidarum - an extreme form of sickness during pregnancy leading to dehydration. Now coming up to six months, I am too weak to work and my partner is working 10 hours a day, 6 days a week to try and support us whilst fixing the house up. I appreciate what he does for me so much but feel guilty as I cannot give back.

I know these girls mean the world to him, giving their room a makeover would give him a break. We may be sleeping in a room with cold tiles and a broken door, but as long as their room is ready for when they come I’ll be happy.

The little amount of money I get each month, around £350 with being off sick so much, goes on food, gas and electric. My partner kindly pays all of the bills and my travel expenses, as well as trying to stock up for Evelyn and Ava’s arrival date.

Any money we raise will go towards decorating supplies, a carpet for their bedroom, and childcare when they are here.

I will be so grateful for even the smallest donations, we want these girls to be brought up in a loving environment which they will remember when they’re older, but we wont be able to do that if they haven’t got a warm place to sleep.
