    Story

We’ve teamed up with ‘Time to Change‘ to encourage all event businesses to sign the ‘EventWell Manifesto‘ for the Event Industry to inspire ‘positive action’ to tackle the ‘real issue’ of one in three event professionals suffering from mental ill health each year.

The #EventWell20 campaign educates on the importance of a commitment to providing better support for employees and talent, and to making a positive change to workplace culture and mental health.

After signing the EventWell Manifesto , EventWell and Time to Change will provide six months free support to help event businesses work towards an ‘Employer Pledge Action Plan’, preparing their organisation to be ready to sign the Employer Pledge during Event Wellbeing Week in September, achieving the Thriving at Work six core standards at the same time, as set out in the Government’s 2017 Stevenson/Farmer Review.

The event industry is hugely underrepresented and currently sits 2nd to last in terms of UK Industry and employers who have already signed the Employer Pledge. This is something we urgently need to review and change, and the #EventWell20 campaigns aim to address this.

WHY EMPLOYERS SHOULD SIGN THE EVENTWELL MANIFESTO?

    • One in three event professionals will suffer from mental ill health each year (EventWell).

    • 42% of event professionals have changed job due to stress, 75% have felt stressed in the past 12 months (EventWell).

    • UK event professionals only rate their general wellbeing at 6 out of 10 (EventWell).

    • In the UK stress accounts for 45% of lost work days, and over 1.3 million people have suffered from workplace stress (HSE).

    • Mental ill-health is the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, costing an average of £1,035 per employee per year (Time to Change).

The EventWell Manifesto is encouraging the event industry to take the important step to make a real commitment to positive change, for the benefit of all – as we all have mental health!

How will EventWell use your money?

Your money will go towards the overall campaign management and contract services, travel and expenses, marketing and communications, social media advertising, and the design of print materials that will enable us to reach as many professionals and businesses within the event industry as we can.

You will support us in reaching new audiences across the UK event industry, to ensure that our messaging is impactful and helps us to achieve our campaign aims and objectives of improving the mental health and wellbeing of all professionals working in the event industry.

Everyone who makes a donation will be listed as an official donor of the #EventWell20 mental health and wellbeing in events campaigns website page on eventwell.org.
