I've raised £2000 to To support to local charities. The Ryde Fire Station Charity Fund & The Wight Brainy Bunch, both charities funds are spent here on the IOW.

Ryde Fire Station are know for doing wacky events once every 2 years. 6 years ago we have carried a fire service ladder all the way around the Isle of Wight, 4 years ago we ran inside a giant hamster wheel for 48 hours non stop. Then 2 years ado we spent 24 hours inside cages, taking part in "I'm a fire fighter, get me outta here". And for 2017 we will spend 24 hours climbing a 10M high tower on a fire servie ladder and whilst doing this there is the possibility of breaking a world record, currently held by the Isle of Man fire and rescue service.. All money raised will be split between the Ryde Fire Station charity fund, which will help local families going through tough times, the fund was set up to purchase items or donate cash for children & families to make their life a little more fun or easy. The second charity is The Wight Brainy Bunch which is a charity set up to support Island families affected by brain tumours by supplying emotional and financial support.
Please donate and support this event which is going to be the biggest and hardest event Ryde Fire Station have ever taken part in..
