I've raised £750 to help provide packs of basic essentials to families on the island of Evia, Greece, who have lost everything to the devastating fires.

This is an appeal to raise funds to supply packs of basic essentials to people on the Greek island of Evia who have seen their homes burnt down and lost everything to the catastrophic fires. They literally have nothing.
Through our Greek beekeeper Thomas we are helping fund 50 packs of basic essentials for families who have lost everything. Later we will help pay for trees to be planted to replace those that were burnt. Our iniital target is £750. If we raise more the money will be used to help more people.
This is the background:
We are the Raw Honey Shop and we are supplied with honey from a Greek beekeeper called Thomas. He has some hives on the island of Evia and we were devastated to learn that fires had destroyed his hives.
However, it quickly became clear that a massive disaster was taking place, on a scale hardly ever seen before in Greece. Whilst Thomas was obviously extremely upset at the loss of his hives the fact was that extreme heat and massive out of control fires were destroying homes and livelihoods that number at least a thousand. Over 121, 000 acres have burnt.
Thomas was determined to do something to help those who have lost everything. Whilst the Greek Government will provide grants to help people rebuild their lives that will take time. At this very moment families need basic essentials..
Thomas, his family and community, who are based in central Greece, are taking packs of food, water and basic essentials to families whose homes and livelihoods have been lost. Later, in September they will go to plant trees, when conditions have improved.
We are launching this appeal to help fund the provisions that Thomas and his family are sending now to families in need.
They have made up 50 family packs including basic essentials such as big containers of water, masks, bread, pasta, pasta sauce, toilet paper, soap.
Later, in September, they will plant trees.
Our aim is to raise an initial £750 towards the cost of this emergency help and then to pay for trees. EU satelite data ishows that around 121,000 acres have been destroyed through the wild fires in Greece. That's a massive area.
Please send what you can, which will help provide immediate aid to families who are in desperate straits having lost their homes and everything to the fires. £25, £50, £100 or whatever you can afford will help ensure people have the basic essentials they need to live.
UPDATE 13th August:: Thomas has already delivered some of the packs and is sending more. He said one of the big issues now is that animals are starving. Basically, all the grass has burnt, which the sheep and goats relied on to graze. So they are starving. He is arranging for Alfalfa to be delivered as emergency foodstuff for the animals.
