Story

Devestatingly, our dear friend sue from the stables has recently been diagnosed with incurable cancer. Within five weeks of being diagnosed, sue has taken a downhill turn very quickly and has been unable to care for her beloved horse ‘Miggs’ for the last 3 weeks. Sue is a retired school teacher and widowed. she has owned Miggs for over 17 years and he has been the centre of her world. Miggs is 22 years old (a veteran) And due to age and lifelong injuries, can only be lightly hacked, meaning a full loan (to stay at the yard) would be virtually impossible to find for him. Sues wish is for miggs to not be sold. Between a handful of us at the stables, we have been collectively taking care of Miggs, happily. However, financially, we are not able to afford the full costs of taking Miggs on. Having young children, multiple horses between us and many other financial commitments, we cannot afford to take on an extra horse. Meaning Miggs (a happy healthy horse) will likely be put to sleep. Miggs loves his yard, his companions and his routine and we know him well and he knows us well. My aim is to be able to raise funds that will last for a few years in order to pay for Miggs stable, farrier and hay. Times are very tough for everyone at the moment (i really do appreciate this) but i would like to at least try to fufill a truly wonderful persons last wish.
