Story
The creation of this fundraising page was Ewan's own idea. Ewan would like to help his friend and classmate Leon by supporting Leon's family in their fundraising. Their hope is for Leon to experience as much as possible before he loses his sight completely.
Leon has stood in front of his whole school in assembly, giving an emotional presentation whilst speaking about his condition. Ewan and other classmates have been learning to read braille and have tried to understand how difficult it can be for Leon by wearing equipment that impaired their vision .
Ewan in particular has been inspired by Leon's bravery and courage, in the face of these difficulties, so he asked if he could do something to help.
Ewan has decided to challenge himself by completing a triathlon, which he has never attempted before. To ensure this is challenging, Ewan will be attempting the maximum distances used in competition by 13-14 year olds. Ewan will firstly complete a swim of 300m, then a cycle of 8km before finishing with a run of 2.5km. The challenge will take place on 24th March in Dereham and you’ll be able to find out about Ewan's progress in the updates below.
Please, please, please consider supporting Ewan in his attempt to raise funds for Leon, it would mean so much to him if he was able to help Leon in some way. If you're still unsure then please take a few minutes to read Leon's story and an EDP article published recently.
