We would like to raise funds for our local charity Project 229 (charity no.1178577)

Project 229 is based in the heart of the town of Kempston (serving Kempston, Bedford and the surrounding areas). As a proactive, multi-agency community centre for people of all ages, impacting lives for good is key to every group and activity. Services range from crisis support through to social activity and even at the social end of the spectrum, activities are supported by highly skilled and trained staff and volunteers including therapists and health professionals.

Project 229 works alongside over 40 local groups and organisations, which helps to create better referral pathways between services ensuring that people are receiving the most appropriate support.

Hub Club @229 (the not-for-profit café) operates as a warm, meeting and support space and provides opportunities for triage work leading to faster referrals and better connectivity with the local community. Volunteers who have journeyed through the project with lived experience help to run the café and support clients coming in. Free drop-in activities provide light touch mental health support and act as a feeder into some of the referral-in services. Having staff in the space provides valuable insight into the issues and concerns from the local community which in turn aids the development of services.

For more information on the services visit: www.project229.org/whatsonnow

To be referred to the service the young people must be aged 9-16 and living or going to school in Bedford Borough.
