Imagine Housing provide 24 hour support for young adults between the ages of 16-23 who have had troubled or chaotic upbringings or have just left care. Housing for this particular age group was virtually non existent apart from a couple of youth hostels. Whilst the hostels still provide a valuable service this type of housing is not suitable for all. We are at present self funded and only eight months old but have helped our residents into employment and education including helping and encouraging life skills e.g - cooking, money management and cleaning. We work with local services including the police, social services, refresh, dap and many more who are amazed with the progress and confidence our residents have achieved and shown.

Unfortunately many of our youngsters have suffered traumatic events or upbringings which often result in anxiety, stress and struggles with mental health . Whilst prescription medication is something necessary in some instances we believe that excersise and a healthy lifestyle can be a major mood lifter and can be an excellent alternative. Of course a doctors consultation would be the first point of call however we have found that the doctor often recomends excersise before prescription drugs are issued.

We are looking for funding to go towards 30 - 50 gym memberships to help with sensible exersize routines, diet plans and of course as scientifically proven, mental health.

We have utilised and trialed free one off day passes offered at the local gyms . This has shown amazing results with more and more of our youngsters asking about memberships and passes. The feedback from our residents has been amazing!
