My name is Ezgi, and I am from Turkey. I am 24 years old, and a sociology graduate from the top university of Turkey: Boğaziçi University. A week ago, University College London, the 7th university in the world ranking, made an unconditional offer of entry to MSc Social and Cultural Anthropology. In September 2018, I will hopefully start my masters programme with a direct entry.

Being awarded the chance to study further in my field at UCL is an incredible opportunity for me, and I will definitely do my best academically! My purpose is staying in academia and being the voice of the disadvantaged communities who are dealing with hostility by the majority. However, due to the lately change in exchange difference (1 British Pound Sterling = 6,0726 Turkish Lira right now), which causes considerable financial strain, I and all of my family have to bet the ranch with full effort. We are going to give and use all of our economic potential, but if I can receive even a little support, I can overcome this huge difficulty. I do not want to let this greatly increased financial burden affect my participation and concentration during my future studies through further pursuing academia; and that is why, I need financial aid or scholarship.
